An incense holder shaped like a small cup, turned from solid aluminium. The shallow dish on top holds a burning stick and catches the ash, and underneath there’s room for spare sticks and a lighter. The silver is anodised with a soft bead finish to keep the colour of bare aluminium.
Tokyo studio TENT designed it, and Yumoto Electric in Osaka, a firm that usually machines parts for rockets and robots, makes each one. It’s 55 mm across and 92 mm tall, weighted low so it’s hard to knock over.
